Please Help our friend Mane Paulo Rimoni’s fight. Mane was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease (MND), a cruel, debilitating disease.
Auckland
Mane, a 35 year old Samoan, moved to New Zealand when he was just 17. Mane has a wonderful partner, Katalina and is a loving Dad to his 10-year-old son Malolo.
He is a hard-working Manufacturing Fabrication Supervisor, played Senior club rugby, attends Church regularly and loves spending time with family and friends.
In December, 2017 Mane was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease (MND), a cruel, debilitating disease that aggressively causes the body’s muscles to stop working and reduces mobility resulting in the need for a wheelchair and finally, paralysis. There is no cure for MND and on average 70% of people will pass away within 1-2 years of being diagnosed.
Mane is one of life’s true warm and generous characters. He has an incredible positive energy, always putting others needs ahead of his own. Mane has firmly set his sights on being one of the 30% that survive longer than 2 years and one of the 10% that survive five years.
Sadly, Mane’s partner also has her own health issues with long term heart and vascular complications so Mane is the sole income provider for the family. His income will soon be affected as the disease progresses. We are reaching out to the goodwill and kindness of everyone in graciously asking for any donation to assist Mane and his family with:
* Modifications to his house that are not funded, to allow wheelchair use particularly in the bathroom and an access ramp to the back door, with quotes for the work at $20,000.
* Mobility and exercise equipment to help his good muscles and an adapted car with ramp to facilitate transport whilst remaining in a wheelchair.
* Family life experiences and a trip back to Samoa to see his Mum and Dad again.
* Most importantly, future financial planning for his partner and son to ensure their lives are enabled and fulfilling once Mane can no longer work
We have set up a Family Trust to carefully manage your kind donations to Mane’s family, as they prepare for a difficult and uncertain future.
