Anamia was a valued team member at our kura for over a decade - helping all who crossed her path, let's return the favour !!!
Wellington
Cancer tries to interfere with life but there are those like Anamia who are courageous, strong, resilient and with great determination to remain positive no matter what life throws at you.
Anamia is an amazing "giver", she has always been others-focused, and continuously provides support to others with no strings attached. As such it has been hard for her to accept that her diagnosis and all that comes with it provides an opportunity for others to support her in her journey to wellness.
The journey so far ;
May 2023 - diagnosed with Grade 3 HER2+ aggressive breast cancer
June 2023 - treatment plan agreed,
commenced chemotherapy - 6 rounds completed to December 2023
commenced immunotherapy treatment - continues every 3 weeks
diagnosed with Peripheral Neuropathy
17th January 2024 - surgery - double mastectomy and reconstruction
March/April 2024 - radiation treatment begins
The Trust's primary focus is to provide for the educational development of youth within the ART confederation area. We also utilise the Trust to support whānau who have an association with our school - Te Kura-ā-iwi o Whakatupuranga Rua Mano.
To support Anamia with medical, support and living costs while she follows her journey to wellness and to regain her independence as a cancer survivor.
