Please help Shakiro get the treatment he needs!

Luz and her family need help to pay Shakiro's vet bills. Without help they won't be able to save their wee dog.

Auckland

Shakiro is sweetest little dog in the world. He belongs to Luz and her family, who are originally from Venezuela. They moved to Christchurch and bought Shakiro as they thought they were unable to have children. Shakiro survived being home alone during the Christchurch earthquake and Luz ran for hours to get home to her fur baby.

Luz is now living in Auckland as a single Mum with her two children aged 8 and 5. Shakiro is still her fur baby and is very close with the children. Luz's elderly mother from Venezeula lives with the family and has limited English so Shakiro keeps her company during the day.

On Tuesday night Shakiro became very unwell and had several seizures. Luz rushed him to Carrington Vet Hospital knowing that she would struggle to pay the bill. The vet has made Shakiro comfortable and pain free until Luz can find the money to take him to the vet for further testing. He needs sedation and blood testing to find out what is causing his illness. Currently Shakiro is at home but is not eating or drinking.

Please help this adorable wee dog and his loving family. They will be absolutely devastated if they can't afford to do what is necessary to save Shakiro.
