Please Help Sophia get to Outward Bound

Hello, my name is Sophia Davis

I am currently 16 years old and in year 11 at One Tree Hill College. I live at home with my parents and my sister and I am currently looking for a part-time job for the weekend and after school when I am not playing sport.

I recently decided that I want to enrol in a life-changing Outward Bound course. I am to participate in a course during December 2021.

I am fundraising to raise around $2600 for part of the course fee, and I am seeking any possible funding support to make my Outward Bound trip a reality in December 2021.

I want to enrol in this course because I know it would benefit me greatly from taking time away from everyday distractions to focus on my goals for my future. I have been struggling with self-confidence since Intermediate and I believe that completing this course will make me stronger mentally, so I can be more confident and more ready to take on challenges in life.

Each day on the Outward Bound trip, I will complete activities that push me physically, mentally and emotionally. This trip will help me come away from my 21 days in Anakiwa as a more resilient person. I hope this course will help me to become less shy, more outgoing and to feel more comfortable and confident with myself.

My funds include some money from my savings. I will hopefully make some money through selling items on Trademe. I plan to raise some funds by selling some baking and selling washable face masks to help fundraise throughout the year.

I aim to raise around $300 from baking by selling the baking in the community. I am to raise at least $500 from sewing and selling washable fabric face masks in the community. As I become aware of other fundraising opportunities I will look into these also.
