Tony and my mum have always given out of the goodness of their hearts and always helped anyone who needed it. Now he is in need of help.

Bay of Plenty

Hi my name is Lani, I am one of Tony’s partner Julie’s daughters.

I have decided to reach out for help to support Tony, my mum and family in their time of need.

Tony has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Mantle Cell Lymphoma at quite an advanced stage.

He is usually a very healthy man for his age and a workaholic it’s taken quite a toll on his body.

He’s been a pillar to my mum and two nephews who live with them, one of which requires constant specialist care for a condition in which he was born with, my mum looks after him full-time. After making Australia their home almost 10 years ago and seeking a better life, he's been hit harder being ineligible for any help.

He is the main breadwinner for his family and not having any income will mean more stress for him not being able to look after and provide for them.

Tony has always provided beautifully for his little family and in two weeks time he undergoes a 4 Phase Treatment Plan.

*Phase 1 will consist of 2 x 28 day cycles of Oral and Intravenous Drugs with a 1 week break afterwards.

*Phase 2 will consist of 4 x 21 day cycles of Chemotherapy and Intravenous Drugs in which they will prepare him for collection of Stem Cells with again a 1 week break afterwards.

*Phase 3 he will undergo a Stem Cell Transplant over a period of 6 days with a four week break afterward and preparation for more CT Scans.

*Phase 4 will consist of Maintenance of Oral and Intravenous Drugs.

Oral Drugs will be given twice a day for a year and Intravenous Drugs will be given every three months for two years.

*Unfunded Oral Drugs: Panafcort, Amlodipine/Valsartan, Somac, Escitalopram, Allopurinol/Apotex, Resprim Forte, Metoclopramide, Famotodine, Pantaprazole

As you can see treatment will be hard and fast which will take a huge toll on him not only physically but mentally as well and the family too.

If you can find it in your heart to give graciously this will provide them with the help they need to cover costs for all medication he is on, travel costs to and from the hospitals, specialist appointments and living costs while he is undergoing treatment.

Use of funds

All monies will be going towards living costs while he cannot work, travel costs to and from hospitals, specialist appointments and all oral medications he needs as unfortunately none of these are covered by ACC or Govt funded.

Phase 1 Treatment  6 June 2021

Phase 1 of Treatment has gone well so far, Tony's had very little side effects and is in good spirits. He has lost quite a bit of weight so hopefully he can build his body up by nourishing it with a wholesome, healthy diet.
