Support the Nelson Youth Theatre overcome the loss of $15000 after ticketing company folds without honouring its debt
Nelson / Tasman
The directors of the Nelson Youth Theatre, who volunteer hundreds of hours of time supporting the youth of the city in the arts, are out of pocket $14988 after the ticketing company Ticket Rocket folded, with no money being re-paid. Hundreds of tickets to the shows ‘Shrek the Musical’ and ‘Mamma Mia’ were sold in February and March prior to lockdown, and due to restrictions the shows were unable to be performed. With both shows now on during the July school holidays all tickets are being honoured despite no money being received. Please support the Nelson Youth Theatre overcome this potentially crippling financial blow!
I am involved as parent support for the Youth Theatre and am on the board of the Inspiring Youth Theatre Charitable Trust
The funds will be used to cover out-of-pocket costs incurred in putting on shows with no ticket revenue paid. Any profit on the show was to be put into supporting the Charitable Trust associated with the Theatre group, as will any fundraising surplus
