Raising funds for Junior Tall Black to represent NZ at the World Cup in June.
Auckland
To represent New Zealand Basketball players must finance training and travel costs. Jaga Mete-Smith is a gifted young athlete who was selected recently for the Junior Tall Blacks team. He will represent NZ in the FIBA U19 World Cup being held in Greece in June 2019. After selection, selected players have about 1 month to pay the costs to represent our country.
Basketball is a growing sport that provides pathways for young people to achieve overseas in US colleges, in professional leagues in the US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and many other countries. Representing NZ opens up these opportunities for these young people. The reality is that cost is a major consideration when an athlete is selected for the honour of representing us on the world stage.
Please help this young man with immense potential on his journey. We will never know where this will lead.
I work for Basketball Auckland. Jaga is an athlete within the Basketball Auckland program who requires funds to represent New Zealand at the U19 World Championships being held in Greece in June.
