DIRECT HELP FOR UKRAINE’s LARGEST CHILDREN’s HOSPITAL

“Ohmatdyt” is the largest Ukrainian Children’s hospital in Kyiv, Ukraine, https://www.facebook.com/ndslohmatdyt, https://ohmatdyt.com.ua. Since Russian invasion of Ukraine on the 24/02/22 the hospital stuff has been working around the clock to help injured children and adults from all over Ukraine.
I am a Ukrainian Kiwi who has been following the humanitarian tragedy in Ukraine since Russian invasion on the 24/02/22. I have parents, family and some friends still living in Ukraine right now.
There are people who need immediate help in Ukraine. I met a beautiful woman Eva in Motueka who shared that she and her partner wanted to do a fundraising trip for Ukraine through their business Abel Tasman Canyons: https://www.abeltasmancanyons.co.nz/. Our conversation turned into a number of ideas between the 30th of April and the 8th of May! The 100% proceeds of each of them will be donated to this give a little page and then to Ohmatdyt Children's Hospital.
* On the 30th of April Abel Tasman Canyons will run a fundraising canyoning trip in Torrent River with support from Abel Tasman Aqua taxi and Patisserie Royale.
* Pub quiz fundraiser at the Sprig and Fern in Motueka on the 5th of May.
* Baking sale at the Motueka Market on Mother’s day, the 8th of May.
* We have a donation box in Antonius European Bakery in Motueka that people can donate to plus plan to have more donation boxes next week.

Kia ora wonderful people,
One year ago we opened this give a little page and now we wanted to write one last message to let you all know that this give a little page is now closed. A massive thank you to all of you for your unbelievable generosity. Together we have raised a total of $25,421 for “Ohmatdyt”, the largest Ukrainian Children’s hospital in Kyiv. We have made the final payment to the hospital in March and they are extremely grateful for your generosity. When we started this give a little page, we set the goal at $20.000, not ever thinking we would be able to raise that much. Yet in the end we raised even more! We are absolutely stunned. Thank you!
Even though we are closing this page, sadly the war is far from over. Ukraine still very much needs our support. Instead of using this give a little page, the Nelson Tasman region has gotten more organised and set up a trust to raise funds for Ukraine. The trust is called Tautoko Ukraine.
