PLEASE HELP UKRAINIAN CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL!

  • Final Update

    Kia ora wonderful people,

One year ago we opened this give a little page and now we wanted to write one last message to let you all know that this give a little page is now closed. A massive thank you to all of you for your unbelievable generosity. Together we have raised a total of $25,421 for “Ohmatdyt”, the largest Ukrainian Children’s hospital in Kyiv. We have made the final payment to the hospital in March and they are extremely grateful for your generosity. When we started this give a little page, we set the goal at $20.000, not ever thinking we would be able to raise that much. Yet in the end we raised even more! We are absolutely stunned. Thank you!

Even though we are closing this page, sadly the war is far from over. Ukraine still very much needs our support. Instead of using this give a little page, the Nelson Tasman region has gotten more organised and set up a trust to raise funds for Ukraine. The trust is called Tautoko Ukraine. The trust can be contacted through the following email address: info.tautokoua@gmail.com. To see what fundraising events are being organised in the area, please have a look on this Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TautokoUA

We will always be grateful for your support. To know that you cared about the people of Ukraine, despite being so far away, has meant the world to us.

    THANK YOU, ЩИРО ДЯКУЄМО!

    Nataliya and Eva

It is a very SPECIAL MOMENT for me and Eva Maureau from Abel Tasman Canyons to be able to say that the total of the raised funds of NZD$20,300 from 5 fundraisers held in Motueka and Nelson in April and May 2022 reached the largest Children's Hospital in Ukraine Ohmatdyt - НДСЛ Охматдит!

In the photo you can see Vladimir Zhovnir - Director (on the right) and Наталия Мирута (Natalia Miruta) - Deputy Director of Ohmatdyt Hospital (on the left) with the donation certificate for NZD$20,300. It’s absolutely incredible how many adults and children have received much needed medical help at НДСЛ Охматдит since the end of February 2022 thanks to its incredible staff and leadership team working around the clock!!! On the 27/04/22, a few days before our first fundraiser, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited "Ohmatdit" and awarded doctors with state awards, including the Director Vladimir Zhovnir and Pavlo Plavskyi, who you saw on the main picture for our Give a Little Page.

A quick reminder of the 5 events:

    1) The first event that kicked off our fundraisers was a Torrent River CANYONING TRIP organised by Abel Tasman Canyons on Saturday the 30th of April. A huge thank you to Abel Tasman Canyons and their partners Abel Tasman AquaTaxi, and Patisserie Royale for providing their service for free, so that all the proceeds could go to the Children’s Hospital. Thank you also to the wonderful participants that booked the trip! This day we RAISED $3030! 🏊‍♀️🧗‍♂️🏞🌻

2 On the 5th of May, Lola Cook ran the QUIZ NIGHT at Sprig and Fern Tavern Motueka. It was a great success. Thanks to the wonderfully generous quiz participants (including EJ ZUMBA Motueka, Motueka Steiner School and Farm, and Motueka Toastmasters teams) who bought our raffle tickets, we RAISED $930 🌟💖

    3) On the 6th of May, Greenwood Kindergarten organised a Blue and Yellow day. They did a wonderful job in sharing age appropriate information with the kids about the war in Ukraine. Whilst also listening to Ukrainian music and learning about the colours of the Ukrainian flag. With their gold coin donations they RAISED $79.70🌻☀️💛

    4) On the 7th of May, there was a BAKE SALE at The Nelson Market. Here a TOTAL of $5940 was raised. This includes the incredible effort of Bear's Bakery that donated $940. Thank you so much to everyone who baked and helped on the day!!!🧁🍰💙

5 Another BAKE SALE at the Motueka Sunday Market on the 8th of May RAISED $5,788. This amount includes a $650 donation from Beacon Coffee Cart (Sam Leith) whose coffee cart was next to our stall on the market and 2 x loads of dry firewood donated by Philip Leith worth $800. • Canyoning Trip fundraiser!!!!

      2 May 2022
    Main image

I wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to Eva and Toine from Abel Tasman Canyons and their sponsors Abel Tasman AquaTaxi and Patisserie Royale (who didn't charge for their services that day) for the AMAZING fundraising Canyoning trip on the 30th of April!!! 🤩🙏 It was such an empowering experience for me personally and everyone else who participated thanks to the organisers and our superb guides - Toine and Zeb. This was my very first canyoning trip and I will definitely be doing more canyoning trips in the future. It is so different from anything else I've ever done!!! The beauty of nature of the Torrent river canyon is unbelievable!!! And where else can I do a scenic water taxi, walking, jumping, sliding, swimming, ziplining, abseiling all in one day???!!! 🌿☀️🏞

Thanks to everyone who booked for this canyoning trip 😊💙💛 🌻

Abel Tasman Canyons donated 100% of the proceeds (the full $289pp) to the Ohmatdyt Children’s Hospital in Kyiv, Ukraine. The TOTAL amount RAISED was $2312!!!!!!👏👏👏🙏 💝💙💛

The Ohmatdyt Children's Hospital НДСЛ Охматдит is the biggest Children’s hospital in Ukraine. And since the war started they have been INCREDIBLE treating wounded children and adults from anywhere in the country. During the active airstrikes in Kyiv the hospital remained open and functioning. They set up an underground bomb shelter and a secure surgery ward 💝👏🌟✨💙💛
