Recent changes by the government mean that the remaining four treatments of fulvestrant and Palbociclib (ibrance) Mum is due to get over the coming months, have been funded!! This is exciting news for us and long overdue for so many women. We have been so lucky to be able to start Mum on this treatment and that has been thanks to you and your generous support. Mum has responded well to this treatment and has had some good, stable results. While there are always good days and bad, we are so lucky to have gotten this treatment for her. She continues to be brave and fight hard and as her daughters we couldn't be more proud of her. We are so grateful to all of you who continue to follow the journey and support our family through this.

Mum wants you to know how much this means to her. From the bottom of her heart she is forever grateful to you all.

We will close this page shortly and continue to update you through Facebook, text and calls.

  • Update on Mum's treatment

Hello friends and family, we thought we should give you an update on mum’s treatment following everyone’s generous donations to her Givealittle page. Firstly though we just want to say thank you so much to everyone who has donated and helped fund the treatment she has had so far, and all the other support we have had in so many ways. We can’t say enough how much it means to us.

Mum recently had some tests and a scan to see how the new treatment was working. We are pleased to let you guys know the scan showed no new growths and even a reduction in cancer cells in some parts of her body. This means the treatment is working and the doctors want mum to continue taking the treatment.

IBRANCE costs almost $7000 per month in NZ as it is not funded here. In Australia, this treatment costs $40. How much money you have available to you should not determine how long you get to live and it makes us sad and angry that people have to go through this in our country.

This is where again we must ask for your help, as we are still a wee way off reaching our target of 11 months of treatment.

If you are in a position to donate to mum’s page, we would be forever grateful. This treatment will give us more time with our mum and give her better quality of life that she can share with her husband Gordon, her sister Marilyn, and all her family and friends who she loves so so much.

    Thanks again,

    Karina and Shannon

      25 August 2019

Just a small update to say a big thank you to all who have donated, shared and commented on mum's givealittle page. We have been truly overwhelmed by your generosity and we are so grateful for each and every donation. There are not enough words to really express just how much this means to us, but we will be forever thankful to you. Lots of love xxx
