Please help us 'give a little' hope and support to our friends battling Stage 4 Cancer.
Auckland
In late November, after experiencing some pain, Peony was diagnosed with Stage 4 Nasopharyngeal Cancer. Her and her husband Ray, like so many other couples receiving this news, were devastated. They were told that this particular Cancer isn't very well known here in NZ so there isn't much that can be done here.
Ray (Jin Woo), the sole income earner, just had one single thought for himself and their teenage son; they need AT LEAST another 30 years with Peony and he will do everything in his power to get that time for them. Within days of the diagnosis he arranged to use up all of his available sick leave and they were all on a plane to Hong Kong where she began receiving Tomotherapy treatment days later.
With no real savings or funding they have their usual monthly bills here in NZ, plus flights, accommodation, food, transport and then the medical treatments costing between $200k-$300k alone.
Every dollar will be gratefully received. We hope that if everyone who sees this can donate $1 each and then share this message that together we can bring a tiny bit of support and relief to our friends during this difficult time.
We were colleagues with Ray for over a decade, and are now very close friends.

Our gratitude and update 22 January 2024
Dear friends and supporters,
We are reaching out with immense gratitude to each and every one of you who has kept us in your thoughts and prayers, and who has generously contributed to our cause. It's truly heartwarming to see the outpouring of support from not only our close friends but also from many kind-hearted individuals who have shown their care and concern for us.
We were both shocked and humbly moved to witness the extent of generosity and compassion extended towards us. In these challenging times, your support has been a beacon of hope and has significantly lightened our burdens. We are forever grateful for the love and kindness you've shown us.
Special thanks to Elisha and Shaun for creating the Givealittle page to start all of this. Your initiative has been a cornerstone of our journey. Also, heartfelt gratitude to Xiang Li and Eric Zhou for your immediate and generous direct contributions of $3000 and $500, respectively, as soon as you heard the news of our decision to continue our treatment journey in Hong Kong.
As for the progress of the treatment, we are pleased to share that Peony has successfully completed her 2nd round of chemotherapy. The test results are quite promising at this stage. We have one more round of chemotherapy to complete before starting Radiochemotherapy.
We promise to keep you updated on our progress and remain deeply thankful for your continued support and prayers.
With heartfelt thanks,
Peony and Ray
