Please help us support Maritza to cover unfunded Enhertu chemo!

Maritza, mother of two, loving wife, wonderful friend, loved one who is always willing to help others was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer in 2016. Going through chemo, radiation, double mastectomy & reconstructive surgery, she always remained positive & her Faith in God speaks for itself. She reached the milestone of being in remission for 4 years but started experiencing excruciating back pain. After six painful months, she was rushed to hospital where further scans & tests showed cancer in the spine, pelvis & liver. She received different chemo therapies every 3 months for 2 years.

A brain scan was requested due to abnormal headaches & a small tumor was found in 2022, again change of chemo. In June 2024, Maritza experienced severe symptoms, incl loss of eyesight, speech & dizziness. She now faces Stage 4 Metastatic Palliative end of life! Her oncologist confirmed current chemo won't make a difference as it does not go through to the brain barrier. The only option is unfunded chemo, the best on the market, but very expensive.

The worst was sharing the news with her 10 & 13 year old, but it was a necessity for them to understand the severity. While Maritza remains positive, the doctors are scared the tumors might burst! The new unfunded treatment is every 21 days and the cost every 2 months is NZD17500.00.
