Supporting our Lola’s recovery after a cardiac arrest, life-saving heart surgery, and ongoing treatment.

On October 6th, our beloved Lola Rosario Nemenzo suffered a sudden cardiac arrest in Cebu, Philippines. She underwent major open-heart surgery, followed by a seizure and the need for an urgent blood transfusion. It has been an incredibly difficult journey, but we are so grateful that she has been given a second chance at life.

Lola is currently recovering at Chong Hua Hospital Fuente, and while we remain hopeful and thankful for her progress, the medical costs have become overwhelming for our family. We are reaching out with humility to ask for a little assistance to help us cover her ongoing hospital bills, medications, and recovery needs.

I am Lola Rosario’s granddaughter, currently living in New Zealand. I am organising this fundraiser on behalf of our family over in the Philippines.

Use of funds

The funds will go directly toward Lola’s hospital bills, medications, post-surgery care, and ongoing treatment at Chong Hua Hospital. If we don’t meet our target, whatever is raised will still be used to cover as much of her medical expenses as possible.

On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform.
