Our little boy needs your help to remove the tumor.
Wellington
Alfie has been diagnosed with Cushings Syndrome. This is caused by a tumor on the pituitary gland, at the base of the scull. Unfortunately the tumor is pressing on the gland causing neurological problems relating to the nervous system. This can cause blindness, seizures and facial nerve function. At this stage he has loss of blinking in one eye and dribbles continually. The outlook for dogs with pituitary-dependent Cushings disease is not good.
We have been given an estimate of between $3000 & $5500 for the initial consultation and diagnosis.
The surgical procedure has been estimated to be approximately $10000. He has been booked in to Massey on the 2nd of December.
All funds raised will go towards consultations, surgery and medication for the procedure.
