Home from Auckland after Surgery
10 January 2024After a marathon effort up in Auckland City Hospital Mum is finally home to continue her recovery.
It was a huge month starting on the 6th December with 17hours of surgery over 2 days. 10+ litres of blood replaced and 29 days in hospital (8 of which were in ICU/HDU).... The surgeons managed to remove approx 95% of Mums tumour, however there is a small percentage remaining up under her chest. The doctors took a portion of the remaining tumour and are doing a biopsy so that we can understand what the next steps may be.
The surgery was step one on her journey, but there is still a long road ahead.
