Young Marko is fighting Cancer- Hodgkin lymphoma
Wellington
This happy, bubbly 11 year old was enjoying the school holidays with his siblings when he started feeling nauseous and didn’t feel like eating.
2 days and several tests later Marko along with Mum Helen and Dad Bojan were on a life flight plane to Christchurch Hospital.
More tests, scans, 2 biopsies, over 2 weeks and Marko was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma stage 4b.
His chemotherapy treatment began at Wellington hospital on Monday 6th August. At this stage traveling the 100km round trip from home 5-6 days a week.
As his treatment continues, his weakened immune system will mean Marko and Mum will have frequent stays in hospital, both here in Wellington and in Christchurch.
Marko is an optimistic, positive young man, trying hard to understand the enormity of the situation he finds himself in.
With support from his mum, dad, 2 older brothers and younger sister. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
We ask that you give a little to help with childcare, travel, parking, a few takeaways and a cleaner to help take the financial pressure off this family.
Allowing Markos dad to take time off work and support his wife and children. Most importantly to all spend time with Marko.
We are hopeful that Markos body will respond well to the chemotherapy.
If not then the next option is for treatment is overseas.
My name is Claire. Marko is my nephew.
Funds to help with childcare, travel, parking, a few takeaways and a cleaner to help take the financial pressure off this family. Also for Dad to take time off work (unpaid leave) to be with Marko.
