Asking for help for Saraya so she can pay off her loan, from training overseas to become NZ first public maori, pasifika genetic counsellor
Auckland
Saraya-Grace is a truly remarkable young woman, overcoming a learning difficulty, which at times hindered her education. Saraya-Grace made a commitment to herself and her fellow NZer's that she would rise above this and study to be a Genetic Counsellor involving years of study, NZ doesn't offer training in this field so she had to study through Sydney Uni, this study resulted in huge financial costs, as when studying overseas you don't qualify for a NZ student loan! Saraya-Grace was determined to follow her passion to be the first working Maori Genetic Counsellor in NZ, advocating and guiding Maori and Pasifika whanau through their genetic testing journey. She passed her Masters of Genetic Counselling with a project focusing on Maori cardiac genetics. Saraya-Grace is working part-time in the genetics field. The financial toll has been huge, she is currently battling a large bank loan from paying for her study in Australia. Saraya-Grace deserves to be supported not hindered by financial constraints, she is truly dedicated and talented in her field and is currently the only Maori Genetic Counsellor, working publically in NZ, she understands the challenges that can occur through genetic testing, Saraya-Grace puts her patients first and supports them honestly and compassionately. Please help Saraya-Grace, she so deserves your help, so she can help others. She is part of our future, every $1 counts, we need to invest in these young NZ'ers to help our future
Saraya-Grace is my daughter, she is one special woman, I am so proud of her and her achievements, especially overcoming her learning disability and not letting it hold her back from achieving her dream of supporting NZers
Paying off Saraya-Grace's study loan, as NZ doesn't offer the course required in genetic counselling, so she had to study through Sydney University, which means you don't qualify for funding from NZ.
