Janette and her loving family need our help to fund a drug for her treatment of Lymphoma which has not responded to many months of chemo.

Janette is a much loved friend who is always thinking of and helping others and giving her all to daughter Madison and husband Richard.

Janette was diagnosed with a rare Lymphoma in March of this year which has not responded to the many grueling months of chemo. The next option is a drug which for nine treatments has a cost of $25000 to the family, giving them hope for the future.

We are setting up this page as many are thinking how they can help Janette, Richard and Madison during this difficult time.

I met Janette many years ago when Madison came to riding lessons. She is a kind and special soul who gives so much to everyone who knows her and who now needs our help to give her the treatment she needs.

Use of funds

The money will be used for the nine treatments which Janette needs. The $25000 needs to be paid before they will start.

Update on Janette 16 August 2018

Janette and Richard continue to be amazed and thankful for the generosity of friends and acquaintances.

Subsequent to setting up the Give A Little page there have been further developments for Janette. Janette’s oncologist and haematologist have sought advice from international experts in the field and now recommend that she take a further extensive course of powerful chemotherapy. This was not Janette’s preferred option due to the severity of the drug and potential side effects however she has accepted the oncologist’s advice.

Janette has been advised that this course of chemo is extremely tough, and she can expect to be very unwell. She will therefore need daily care at home by a qualified nurse or carer possibly for up to 6 months. This will be a very stressful time physically, emotionally and financially for Janette, Richard & Madison.

Janette & Richard wish to be completely transparent in regards to your generous support and how the funds will be used. This course of Chemo will be funded through the public health system, however the home support required will not be.

As the funds are not being used for the original purpose the Give A Little page was set up for Janette & Richard wish to offer to return the money to anyone who wishes to have their funds paid back. Alternatively the funds will be applied to supporting Janette & Richard through what will be a gruelling regime over the next few months with in-home care.
