    BONNIES FINALLY HOME ????

Our girl Bonnie is finally home after her surgery and 4 nights stay at the vets. Due to both her back legs on recovery they kept her a little longer with padded bandages.

She was ecstatic to see me ?? and so excited to come home. Keeping her still is proving to be a hard task now she has two brand new legs. She also had surgery on her eye which went great.

We would like to thank u from the bottom of our hearts to every single person that donated and made this happen, u all have Bonnie two brand new legs that she is going to be able to run around on for the rest of her long happy life. My heart is filled with so much love for each and every one of u that made this possible for me to do for her. I donate every month to the SPCA but I think I will up the amount I donate and share it around to other rescue causes so everyone gets a little. Because I know first hand that if everyone have a little it makes magic happen. Thank u so much again ??????

  • Update on Little Bonnie

      12 July 2016

UPDATE ON BONNIE: She had her surgery yesterday morning. Everything went as expected. One leg was an easy fix while the other was an older break so had a bit of mess to clean up around the break and remove the excess bone that had tried to heal in the wrong place. Her knee cap was way off so he has repositioned everything and her legs are wrapped up. Just spoke the the surgeon again and she is happy, eating, drinking, toileting, wagging tail. But due to it being both her back legs, mobility is a bit of an issue so he would like to keep her in for another day or two. He would like her standing and walking before she is discharged. So she doesn't get to come home today ?? but she is in good hands, and hopefully she gets to come home tomorrow. Xx

Thanks to every single one of you, I was able to afford to get Bonnie's surgery. She went in yesterday morning and I get to pick her up today :) yayyyy! everything went smoothly and she is recovering well. She got two pins on one side and two in the other, the surgeon said that the one leg that has been trying to heal for quite some time was pretty messy, there was alot of healing but in all the wrong places, her knee cap was right off target. So there was alot of cleaning up to do on that leg. But he is confident that as long as she is well rested for 6 weeks, she should have 90-95% full functionality in both her legs. I cannot wait to get her home and smother her in cuddles, and look after her. I will be vigilant in keeping her still while she heals so she can grow up to have a normal life and run around with all her new friends. Will update again when I get her home :) xx

I just found out how to do updates, yay. so here is where little Bonnie is at:

She had her x rays yesterday at the vet, which confirmed that she has two broken Femurs. What the awful thing is that both legs were broken on separate occasions, they are approx 1-2 weeks apart from what they can gather from the x rays and how the first one has tried to repair thus far. Being that one leg is a little older that pushes the cost of the surgery up as they will have to re break the bone and re set it back in the correct place, which can prove to be quite tricky. They are confident that it can be done, it just takes a lot more time which pushes the cost up. The good news is that her hips and pelvis are still perfectly intact with no fractures...phew :)

So Bonnie is now booked in for her surgery early next week, as the surgeon is away until Monday. so she is nice and comfortable on pain medication until then, and she seems alot more bright eyes and happy.

She doesn't leave my side, I have her with my 24/7, she comes to work with me, sleeps in my bed, come absolutely everywhere with me, I don't want her thinking she is ever going to be treated that way, or left alone again.

I am absolutely blown away with the love and support from everyone regarding getting Bonnie better, my heart is filled with so much love for each and everyone of you, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is so refreshing to know that there are still so many beautiful souls in this world that are capable of a selfless act of kindness. Although I would be going ahead with the surgery no matter what was donated, the money that I will be using will be a loan, so you have all done me the kindest gesture i don't think I could ever repay by the donation which will make the loan I have to take substantially smaller.

You can follow Bonnie's progress on my facebook page, but i will try keep this updated also for all her supporters :) xx
