Raising Funds to help me pay for my Mum's Funeral & Expenses

Hi Everyone,

WOW i am feeling very very overwhelmed at the incredibly kind & very generous donations been giving to me,however I have also been told I am stressing out a little premature about the funeral costs by a few people now & I am not feeling comfortable anymore asking for your help, apparently they will give me longer than 28 days to pay it all before they give it to the debt collector, so on that note.....If there is not enough money from the funeral cover, what my wonderful Mum had in the bank plus your EXTREMELY incredible very very generous overwhelming donations, I will just use my retirement fund.

I am so touched by your very very special kind words & i can not think of a word good enough to describe just how greatful i am to you wonderful human beings.

As alot of you know I had to close up MJ'S Cakes due to my own ill health, however I also for the past year have been caring for my Mum 24/7 who not only had diabetes which caused her to lose most of the feeling in her feet & gradually causing her mobility to be very limited, Mum also had had several heart attacks(coronary heart disease) & lost most of her sight in her left eye due to macular degeneration & still kept fighting strong. However nearly 3 years ago was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer & nothing they could do.....but Mum did under go 6 weeks of radiation 2&half years ago which helped her to live quite well up until the last 9 months when the cancer started to grow again & like it does spread....we did hope that after losing Dad to cancer 18 years ago that Mum wouldn't lose her life this way.....but sadly she did & very sadly the last month has been very hard, cruel and traumatic for my family & especially me as I have been her full time carer. Cranford Hospice have been amazing & when Mum passed last week I wanted to arrange a real tribute to my beautiful,straight up Mum. The funeral directors so lovely, the place we picked just gorgeous, which Mum and I had chosen from an open day we attended there back in July, we knew Mum's passing was coming.............BUT I did not expect the funeral bill to be $10,500.00 which at this stage is not the final costing!!! Mum didn't have much, no house to sell, assets or investments to cash in, Mum was just a kind, caring and loving humble down to earth person and I wanted to give her a great farewell.....which we definitely got just that, a beautiful unique farewell.....BUT note to you all ASK the cost of EVERYTHING so you know what you really want to give your loved ones, sorry rambling on, but today i was devastated to find out this ball park cost & be told i only have 28 days to pay the bill. Mum has a funeral policy she took out 17 years ago that she thought would pay for her funeral......but it turns out that we are still a bit short, & I am hoping that those of you who know me and know that through MJ'S Cakes I always tried to help others when I could and have been a big supporter of Cranford Hospice, The Cancer society, child cancer, red nose day & diabetes society. I now find myself in the embarrassing and humbling position of needing help myself for carrying out my mothers wishes. Any excess money raised over the amount needed for Mum's funeral cost & ashes placement i will donate the excess to Cranford Hospice. I am completely overwhelmed at the incredible generosity that has so far been shown to me, you beautiful, wonderful loving,caring beings THANK YOU MJ <3
