Building mentally and physically stronger children so they can be inspiring role models in the future.
Otara, Auckland
My Purpose
My primary objective is to educate, train and support our community through our Strength and Conditioning (S&C) Programs that are tailored to our various sports teams and individuals within our community - in particular our young teams/individuals (8yrs-17yrs old), but also our senior teams/individuals (18yrs+).
I aim to:
- Facilitate the development of teams/individuals through our S&C programs that are modified to suit the various age groups.
- Establish a Youth Development S&C Academy geared towards our youth, tailored to meet their specific needs to build their self-confidence so that they may have the opportunity to potentially serve as inspirational figures within our community.
- Incorporate a fundamental skills program to cater for all age groups that will serve to potentially inspire individuals to pursue a sporting pathway in the future.
- Offer wide array of comprehensive support systems to address individual requirements, including their mental health, as they navigate their physical wellbeing as well as promote their personal, mental and emotional well-being.
My Drive
Otara needs a training-base that will enhance the aspirations of its sports teams/individuals. Sports and active engagement for a long time has been a vehicle that nurtures and develops wellbeing, leadership, teamwork and a sense of belonging, especially amongst our Maori and Pacific Island community. A big focus on our young people will help drive that message to benefit all in the long term.
Funds will be used to purchase all the training equipment needed to execute programs for the various teams and individuals in our community who'll come through our facility regardless of if the goal is reached or not.
