3 different vets, numerous X-rays/test and an incorrect surgery, we finally have an answer to Paige's pain.
Waikato
Our girl Paige had the best day ever when a group of children showed up to our house a couple months ago. They played for hours on end, throwing balls and tugging ropes. That night Paige was limping, we decided to see if she improved over the next few days, she didn't. So off to our vets we went, Paige was put to sleep to be examined due to the pain, in the end the vets decided they couldn't see anything wrong but gave her a course of antibiotics to help it settle, it didnt. A week later a good friend of ours was not convinced and asked if we would take her to his vet for a second opinion, so off we went. Paige was put to sleep yet again, further exams were done and X-rays taken. By this time the bills were piling on. The X-rays showed something, but they were unsure what it was, so we were referred onto a third vet centre who would be able
To help. Off we went, Paige being her cheerful self was still happy as ever to once again be off to see another scary vet, Paige was put to sleep
For the 3rd time and further X-rays were taken. Ahhhh ha!! We have an answer.... The vet decided Paige had a shattered bone in her foot causing the pain. So surgery was performed to remove the bone. The vet decided to send the bone away for testing just to be safe. 2 weeks later we have received a call to say the tests are back..... The bone was not only broken but Paige also has cancer in the bone. So now we are stuck with 2 choices..... Wait it out and hope for the best or further surgery to remove more bones from the paw. Our bank accounts are stretched but to see our happy girl suffer any further breaks our heart. So if you think you would be willing to help, anything would go a long way and we would be forever grateful to be able to give our girl the treatment she needs.
