Port Waikato Community Fundraiser: Flood Relief Equipment

Help the awesome Port Waikato Fire Brigade and local community with essential flood relief equipment

Port Waikato, Auckland

Port Waikato was smashed during the recent weather events, with many homes in the small township red or yellow stickered. A fiercely independent and close knit community, hundreds of local volunteer hours have been donated to the clean-up across public and private land (see the video in the link below). But the willingness of these volunteers is hindered by a lack of key pieces of equipment, notably water pumps since FENZ is refusing to allow the local fire brigade to pump water out of private properties. This money will go towards community-owned equipment to allow Port Waikato to continue to be self-sufficient in protecting their land and people when required in times of emergency. As a guide, a water pump is around $10,000, we are aiming to raise enough funds to provide two for community use.
