Due to a ruling from Med Safe NZ Mucuna L-Dopa which is a natural form of dopamine from the Mucuna Bean is not available in NZ without prescription from a doctor. Because it is not a registered medicine very few GP’s will prescribe for fear of losing their registration so access to this treatment for PD is illegal.
Positive Parkinson’s aim is to ;
A persuade the Parkinson’s Society NZ to allow it’s members to have access to a natural treatment and not to bow to pressure from the pharmaceutical companies.
B Convince Auckland University who have the ability to do trials on Mucuna L-Dopa to also ignore the pharmaceutical companies and do the right thing.
Positive Parkinson’s through its face book page is spreading the word and providing a service to enable PD people to have an alternative to a natural treatment without the terrible side effects caused by synthetic drugs.

I am the running force for Positive Parkinson's
Use of funds
These funds will be used to run Positive Parkinsons. I am retired, and I will be devoting my time/effort researching Macuna L-Dopa, also help from others to research this. We would like to go to Wellington and Auckland University eventually to present our research to the Parkinson's Society. All costs related to bringing awareness of Mucuna L-Dopa, and lobby the Parkinson Society and Auckland University into action.

Research into Mucuna L-Dopa 22 February 2021
We are in the process of getting together as much information from those who are using Mucuna L-Dopa as a treatment for Parkinsons . Over the last five years Positive Parkinsons has introduced a lot of PwP to the natural treatment from the Mucuna bean and will be putting together all the information to present to a university to do trials. We need to employ a suitable person to put all this information in a form that can be presented. All donation will be greatfully recieved
