COMMENCE THE RE-FENCE
Farmers and growers affected by Cyclone Gabrielle are still only beginning their journey of recovery, for some this will take years. The size of this challenge means that every little contribution will make a world of difference. The Farmers Adverse Events Trust supports the work of the Farmy Army and is seeking your support to do the same. The recovery is not over by a longshot – our farmers and growers, and our communities continue to need our help.
The Farmy Army have been given two brand new tractors for use in recovery, from CaseIH, a JX100 and from New Holland, a TD5.90. Stevenson and Taylor, Hawkes Bay, have joined with the Farmy Army and provided postdrivers for the machines.
The Plan?? Fuel up the tractors, visit 100 farms and complete a staggering 30 kilometres of fencing in 5 months. Each post that is rammed will represent a sense of hope and resilience along the way.
We are seeking funds to run the tractors, and supply fencing materials.
ONE LAST THING - GIFT A TRACTOR
In the spirit of the rural communities coming together in hard times, these two generously donated tractors will be given away and delivered to two farmers in time for Christmas—these farmers will have been affected by Cyclone Gabrielle will be selected from public nominations. The tractors are intended to become invaluable tools, helping these farmers rebuild their lives. You can nominate someone by heading to https://www.commencetherefence.co.nz
The Farmers Adverse Events Trust (FAET) was set up to provide relief and assistance to farmers, growers and their families who have been subjected to suffering or loss as a consequence of adverse natural events.
