Postpartum Family Support

Our family is getting excited to welcome another soul that will tie us together.

Most people have a baby shower before their little ones enter the world. Something about it feels weird to me; Like society has created this norm to further feed into Capitalism.

The truth is, we don't need many “things”. What we need is support in the form of help to get sleep, help preparing food for the family, help getting groceries, help with chores around the house, and mental health support.

We have two older children that will be experiencing a newborn brother for the first time and all that comes with that. Floyd and I will also be introduced into another layer of parenthood, inevitably growing into new layers of ourselves and deepening our love for our family and each other.

As we do not have family nearby, we are asking for anyone who was interested in giving to a baby shower to instead please support us to hire a Postpartum Doula to help keep our home running smoothly after our little boy arrives. I have attached a link to the service we will hire. We will also hire an Ayurvedic Doula that will prepare foods to support healing and breastfeeding post birth.

I will soon organise a meal train as another way to help support us during this special time.
