Potential life altering surgery.

  • Update

      8 May 2025

    Hey everyone, Braedan here.

Thought it was time to give a little update, the surgery looks to be a success even though it’s very early days. The pressure which I’ve had 24/7 for the last two years has gone for the most part which is very very positive and I’m so grateful for. I’ve been sleeping well for the first time in two years, my sleep actually rejuvenates me now and I’m no longer just sleeping to survive or because I have to. Whilst I’m still in a lot of pain from my surgery which is to be expected, I’ve already started planning what to do with my life after my rehab.

I can’t thank everyone enough for their support which enabled me to get this surgery.

    Thank you all ❤️

I’m so happy for you Breadan. Hopefully you’re feeling even better now than a month ago when you shared your update. Onwards and upwards. It’s just so brilliant.

Thank you so so much for everyones amazing donations, it has been truely overwhelming!

Braedan had surgery in Auckland yesterday.

The main nerves on each side of his head were so badly compressed, what should be round tubes were almost completey flat! They were also wrapped in huge amounts of scar tissue which the surgeon was able to remove. This was caused from repeated compression by the surrounding muscle. The surgeon then lifted the nerves and filled the muscle troughs so the nerves wont drop back in. Alrhough he is in quite a bit of pain at the moment, the prognosis is amazing and after a few weeks rest he can now start planning a life!!!! We are super excited and grateful. B's surgeon is an amazing man who paitently answered all our questions... we owe him the world!
