Braedans potential life altering surgery.
Taranaki
For the last two years I’ve been battling an undiagnosed illness which has completely taken my life and general well-being away from me. I have permanent skull and head pressure 24/7 which feels like your skull is being compressed in, leaving me bedridden and unable to function as a normal human being. After years of searching for answers and anything to help bring relief and allow me to return to a normal life, a neurosurgeon has suggested surgery on the nerves in the back of my neck connecting to my brain. The only problem with this is the surgery is 52k and my family and I only found this out a week ago. Luckily for us, we have insurance which covers 80% so we only have to pay a shortfall of 11k which is still a lot of a money at such a short notice.
This money will be spent on surgery costs in order to give me a second chance at life again.
Update 8 May 2025
Hey everyone, Braedan here.
Thought it was time to give a little update, the surgery looks to be a success even though it’s very early days. The pressure which I’ve had 24/7 for the last two years has gone for the most part which is very very positive and I’m so grateful for. I’ve been sleeping well for the first time in two years, my sleep actually rejuvenates me now and I’m no longer just sleeping to survive or because I have to. Whilst I’m still in a lot of pain from my surgery which is to be expected, I’ve already started planning what to do with my life after my rehab.
I can’t thank everyone enough for their support which enabled me to get this surgery.
Thank you all ❤️
