We desperately need your support to install a new power generator at the Salem Training Centre in Goroka, Papua New Guinea. Please help.

Many in New Zealand will know about the tireless work Liz Hutton has undertaken in the township of Goroka, Papua New Guinea. She set up the Salem Training Centre as a means to supporting the local children and teachers by offering courses, counselling services, Kids' Keep Safe programmes, Leadership meetings and many, many other services.
Despite the excellent staff and support from many people in the training centre they suffer from unreliable power supply. Classes are interrupted, services are shut down and people suffer as a result of something as simple as not having a decent electrical supply. We want to fix that.
We would like to purchase and install a new power generator that will ensure uninterrupted supply of energy to the training centre. We have explored a number of options over the years and importing a new generator is seen as unfeasible (due to import logistics and taxes). Buying a generator locally seems to be the only feasible option. We will be visiting the training centre in April 2018 to help with the install and working with the staff and students at the Training Centre.
We desperately need your support to ensure that the best generator is supplied and installed to support them. You can learn more about STC at their website: http://www.salemtrainingcentrepng.org/stc/salem_training_centre.html
