Solar Power for the Havelock North Volunteer Fire Brigade - Creating Resilience
Havelock North, Hawke's Bay
Resilience in a crisis is so important for our community hero's. When Cyclone Gabrielle hit Hawkes Bay - The local Havelock North Volunteer Fire Brigade came to the aid of many local families in Havelock North. They worked long and tirelessly to support all in need. To build some community resilience - The Hillmac Electrical Team designed a solar system to power the station during grid failure. The team have volunteered to install the system for FREE. The large cost to be covered is the essential materials such as PV panels, inverter, batteries and racking. There is also a switchboard upgrade required.
Chris our Solar Lead - Has had a relationship with the brigade for many years. His Dad is a volunteer as are many of his family friends. Chris saw how hard the team worked with no power and knew we could offer a solution.
