Precious Lily's Leukaemia Battle!
Please consider helping our caring, funny, loveable and precious niece and daughter fight leukaemia!Canterbury
My name is Lily Savannah Finch and I am 4 and a half years old. On Thursday 5th March 2020, my Mummy and Daddy, Anna and Greg, got some really sad news that I have acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Leukaemia is a cancer of the bone marrow and white blood cells.
The doctors told us that I will have to have 2.5 years of intensive treatment in the form of chemotherapy and long hospital stays.
Everyone tells me that I have been very brave with all the blood tests and medical procedures I had to have so far. The doctors and nurses have been so kind and caring at Christchurch Hospital and help bring a smile to my face, even when I am feeling really grumpy and sick. Mummy told me that this is going a be a long journey and it some days it will be a bit bumpy and tough.
Either Mummy or Daddy has to be with all times while I am in hospital, which is makes it tricky for them to go to work. I miss my little brother Jacob who sometimes visits for short times with Mummy or Daddy, but it hard to keep him out of mischief, he likes to touch everything!
As Anna and Greg are trying to navigate their new normal, any money people donate will be used to help cover the shortfall of Anna and Greg working in a reduced capacity. This money will be used to cover their day-to-day bills and expenses. I know it is a big thing for them to reach out ask for help, but it would be truly appreciated as they face every parent's worst nightmare.

Use of funds
Any funds raised will go towards day-day-to-day bills and expenses such as groceries, petrol and power, as Anna and Greg work in a reduced capacity.
Lily has continued to show us what a brave, courageous, resilient and tenacious fighter she is. We are super proud of her. She has had to endure so many medical treatments and handled them with much more grace than I'm sure I could ever! For every medical procedure she receives 'a bead of courage" which she is making into some pretty funky jewellery! This week, Lily is embarking on a 8 week course of delayed intensification chemotherapy alongside steroids. This round of chemo is the toughest yet and can come with some complications. Steroids can cause a dramatic increase in appetite and mood swings. If you are a person of faith, please peace for Lily, Anna, Greg and Jacob. That the chemo would be effective and the side effects minimal. Thank you for walking this journey with us. At times it can be scary and dark, but we are standing firm and believing for complete healing. Thank you again for your generosity, we are eternally grateful. Sending much love to you all.
