A non-profit organisation focused on helping children around the world who are at risk of being forced into child slavery in all forms.

Otago

Project Starfish is a not for profit organisation whose activities are focused on helping children all around the world who are at risk of being forced into child slavery in all forms.

We work to support the efforts of other organisations who are also addressing the issues of child slavery, including child rescue, care and rehabilitation, as well as proactive work that helps at risk children in order to mitigate the risks to their freedom.

Our first project is to work with the Rescue Mission for Children. Here we are raising funds to complete construction of a fourteen classroom school to provide education, care and protection for vulnerable Akha hill tribe children in Northern Thailand and Myanmar, who are at risk of abduction into child sex slavery due to their statelessness.

By enabling the children to receive education, they can achieve citizenship and legal rights which will mitigate the risk to the children, and empower them to have more control over their futures.
