Buying and delivering high quality sleeping bags and waterproof tarpaulins to Christchurch's homeless this winter.
Canterbury
Tonight I went and delivered a high quality sleeping bag and a heavy duty tarpaulin to Mike and Boo our local homeless man and his beautiful fur baby. They were incredibly grateful and it is my goal to provide every homeless person in Christchurch with the gift of warmth this winter.
Every winter homeless people die on the streets of Christchurch, having just moved to the city a few months ago I found myself becoming increasingly worried about the deaths that could occur this winter. I wouldnt be able to live with myself if this man or anyone died from hypothermia that I could prevent so I jumped onto google and quickly discovered Kathmandu are having a huge sale.
I chose the camper 8 sleeping bag which is currently on special from $250 down to $150 and has a comfort level temperature of -8 degrees and is safe up to -26 degrees.
I am hoping others will jump on board so I can purchase and deliver more sleeping bags in the hope of preventing as many unnecessary deaths as possible.
Any and all contributions are hugely appreciated as even the smallest of amounts all add up.
Also please feel free to contact me via email if you would prefer to donate sleeping bags instead of money - tessarow@hotmail.co.nz
Edit - I am now working with the Christchurch city mission - They have an outreach mental health nurse named Don who works on the streets directly with these people and he is helping me to find those who are truly in need and making sure these gifts go to those who need them most.

All money raised will go directly on the sleeping bags and tarpaulins. I will cover fuel costs to deliver myself.
If there is ample money raised, rest assured I will find the best way to further help our most vulnerable.
