This page (and associated website) introduce my friend Chardavin & community, their appeal for food and clean water
International
I've known Chardavin since December 2019 when he connected online via my 'Friends of the World' page, asking for advice and friendship.
Since then our conversations have turned to specific challenges he and his family continue to have in a remote and arid Samburu region of Kenya. Especially now during the COVID pandemic, what scarce food there IS available is now also rising in price each week, and also subject to black market exploitation.
I am responding to his requests to help his community of 30 with Food-Provisions, and hopefully a 'Lifestraw' water purifier for everyone. Supporting a small community needs more than I alone can contribute, so I've decided to create an appeal for those two distinct ways.
To help explain things in Chardavin's own words and share some images of the community where he lives, I've also created a webpage (see link in my profile; best viewed on computer)
I know there are many demands on our money and attention at this time, so thank you for trusting me and being willing to get in and support what I want to achieve for Chardavin and his family and community.
As a personal online friend of Chardavin, I am responding to his requests to help his community of 30 housegolds in the Samburu region of Kenya with Food-Provisions, and hopefully a 'Lifestraw' water purifier for everyone.
Funds will be used in two phases/projects:
1) to provide immediate food/provisions to the community, estimated cost NZ$750
2) to provide a 'LifeStraw' state of the art Water Purifier for the whole community, estimated US$375 (NZ$550) + logistics
Hey Adrienne! How are you 'down there'? Thanks sooo much for generously supporting this appeal for my friends in Samburu, Kenya...and I was speaking to the LifeStraw Water Filters agent today and they are going to give me a 40% discount on the price of the 'Community' unit! Please share with your friends and thanks once again... Mx
Hey Barbara! Thank so much for generously supporting this humble venture... Ir eally appreciate this and know that the funds raised are going to make a significant 'impact' to Chardavin and community. Stay tuned! Mxx
Thank you soooo much Stephen, for supporting this initiative. I continue to appreciate your generosity and will keep you updated of the outcome and overall Appeal, especially when I have been able to transfer the funds raised to Chardavin and community. Muchos Thankos! Martin :-)
