This cause is giving to the giver. She has worked so hard to secure a home. Let's help her over the last hurdle and into home ownership.
Wellington
Ange is the hardest working person I know, and one the most generous. A single mum with two children to raise. She works from home as a successful hairdresser that is always in high demand. Ange has been saving hard for the last few years, but with bank restrictions and means testing, she has been denied a mortgage by banks. She's in a unique position where she can purchase the house she rents from her neighbour. Because she is a solo mum, that is self employed, she has to come with bigger deposit than most. Please help her raise the remaining $5000 to secure her place of work and her daughter's future.
I feel that lending agencies are discriminating against single parents. Ange has been saving for years and has been given the run around by banks and mortgage brokers for 18 months. She would be in a better financial position with a mortgage ie. her rent is higher than her mortgage and rates repayments would be. The best way to help her is to dig into our pockets – a little goes a long way.
To increase Ange's deposit to meet the lending criteria for a mortgage.
Wow! 11 March 2017
Thank you to the 23 very generous people that have supported Ange, Stella and Toia so far.
Update: they've now raised enough to cover most of her lawyers fees and a survey report!
What does this mean? Westpac have "conditionally approved" her a mortgage this week. If we can raise a little more to top up the deposit – we're on a home run!
They're now one step closer to home ownership. This also secures Ange's salon – the source of the family's income.
There's 20 days to go... let's see if we can bump-up the deposit and get them over the line!
