Oli Chignell Quest to Qualify, 2022 Commonwealth Games and World Champs

Hill City-University Athletic club has set this page up to support the efforts of long time member and all round inspiration Oli Chignell in his efforts to support his 2022 world champs and commonwealth games qualification attempt.
Ollie’s efforts demonstrate that a Dunedin born and bred athlete, with hard work in his hometown is all you need to reach the top.
Hill City-University want to support Oli in his endeavour. However, with covid affecting intentioned fundraising events we felt it would be appropriate to set up a give a little to support Oli on his quest to qualify for the 2022 world champs and commonwealth games. This qualification attempt is going to take a large cost for Oli, and we are asking anyone that can spare something to support our champion to please donate to the cause.
Oli’s short term targets:
To race in the American and European summer season in order to qualify for the 2022 World Champs and 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Intentions to race in Europe:
UK, Belgium, with the possibility of many other countries if to opportunity arises.
Intentions of races:
Payton Jordan 10,000m and The Night of the 10,000m PB’s 10,000m are the main focus races, both happening before the end of May.
Current or past titles:
NZ Secondary Schools 6km Road Race
NZ U20 Cross Country
NZ 5000m
NZ Cross Country x2
NZ Road Race
Including 10+ Silver and Bronzes at championships from 20-24 years old.
Greatest running achievement:
Sub-4 Minute Mile, 3 NZ Senior Titles as a 20 Year Old.
Oli Chignell has been a Hill City-Member since he was 6 years old. Many members have watched Oliver grow into an astounding athlete and all round good bloke, and wish to support him in any way they can.
This money will be used to support travel, and Accomodation as Oli Travels to and around Europe and the USA.
