Crowd-funding for Taylor and her family to make this a beautiful painting of her parents, a family heirloom. Can you help us raise $3,500?
Manawatu / Whanganui
I came across Taylors story about this beautiful Colin Hoare painting of her parents and immediately wanted to find a way to help make this painting a family heirloom.
Jason McEwen gave the Britten V1100 it's NZ debut at the final round of the Superbike World Championship at Manfeild Circuit Chris Amon back in October of 1992. Jason rode the Britten to victory in 7 of 8 races in the 1994 Summer Nation Championship Series. Giving John Britten his first NZ Formula One Superbike title.
Here's Taylors story in her own words below:
" I found something pretty amazing while out walking in my local town today, it caught my eye through a gallery window and had to go look further. It turns out, my mum and dad (Jason McEwen) are in this painting. It’s labeled, “race day at Wanganui”. John Britten an the Britten family mean a lot to us. I, myself even have the bike tattooed on my back. This photo was taken 26/12/1992 by a man named Colin Hoare, he had then some years later turned this photo into a painting. Its beautiful. Its amazing and I would love to keep it within my family, it’s something that is now quite special to me. Unfortunately its price tag of $3,500 is too much for me, but to me, worth every penny. So I guess what I'm asking is, if anyone can please help me with raising funds to purchase this, I would be FOREVER grateful. Any money raised will go towards the cost of buying this art work for my home and to pass down generations."
I'm a good friend of Taylors and was inspired to help her. I feel no-one deserves this painting more than her & her family. Artist's have bills to pay and families to feed too, so it is only right to raise the best we can to support everyone x
Any money raised will go directly towards the purchasing of this painting from the artist Colin Hoare.
