Grace has shown such strength and resilience, but requires ongoing love and assistance on her road to recovery.

Our beautiful Gracie contracted listeria meningitis, which lead to encephalitis in early April this year.
Both Grace and her partner Theo were teaching over in Rarotonga before Grace was medically evacuated back to New Zealand. Grace was placed into a coma and received IV antibiotics to beat the infection.
Grace spent the next six and a half months in Auckland Hospital astounding everyone with her determination, strength and beautiful soul. She emerged from a coma, began communicating with an alphabet board, and is now learning to walk and talk again.
Grace has improved in leaps and bounds from where she was 6 months ago, however both Grace and Theo's lives have changed drastically. Grace needs ongoing rehabilitation and support with doing everyday activities.
Unfortunately Grace was declined funding for a specialist brain injury rehab centre as her brain injury was not classed as an accident and therefore there is no available funding. Grace has been working so hard in the rehab available in the community. You are an inspiration Grace.
Ski and I have entered the Goat running race in honor of Graces sheer resilience. The Goat is a mountain trail run which covers 20km over rough terrain on Mount Ruapehu with an elevation gain of 1000m. This race is a a tough one but nothing compared to the struggles and challenges Grace faces daily.
We would love to raise as much as we can to help Grace and Theo start the next chapter of their lives in Hamilton and to help towards her ongoing rehabilitation needs.
Lets all race for Grace together.
Millie and Ski.
Grace and I have been the best of friends since Year 10 at Wellington Girls High School. We moved together from Palmerston North to study at Massey University before we both moved abroad. Grace you are the best friend a girl cold ask for.
The money we raise will go directly to Grace and Theo to help with ongoing rehabilitation or anything else they might need.
