Ethan Kitto-Smith, only 23 years old and lives in Gore, has been battling Leukaemia for 5 years. Despite his diagnosis, Ethan likes to live life to the very fullest.

He approached Race4Life with a wish to visit Queenstown, to experience a few days of fuel packed fun, thrills, scares, fantastic food, gorgeous scenery and some wonderful new memories to cherish.

Ethan took his two special friends, Cody and Sarah, to enjoy and be a part of these very precious few days. They had the most amazing time in Queenstown.

They stayed at the Crowne Plaza with a view of the Lake, Skydived at I-Fly, got scared at Fear Factory. The team enjoyed a gorgeous meal at Lone Star, went up the gondola and down on the luge, grabbed burgers at Fergburger, took a speed ride on The Shotover Jet, had lots of fun at Thrillzone and finally enjoyed a hearty breakfast at Joe's Garage before returning home.

Thank you to the most amazing people in Queenstown who came on board at such short notice!! 🌟🌟🌟

Every day we are overwhelmed and inspired by the generosity of New Zealanders. We again want to thank all of those who have dug deep and helped for their ongoing support of our beautiful work.

Because of the support we have received, Race4Life will grant the wishes of six courageous New Zealanders this month. We have sent our wish recipients up in helicopters and out on road trips to celebrate family weddings, helped them with their self confidence, organised a campervan trip to experience the sights of Northland, created a family celebration and even helped a family, separated by International borders reunite. All of this while mindfully navigating New Zealand in the Red Traffic Light setting!!

Sadly though, due to COVID-19 event restrictions, we have again had to postpone our track days and are unable to run our normal fundraising program. Therefore, to keep us going through these COVID-19 impacted times, we again ask for support. Every donation, regardless of how small, helps if you are able to give.

Thanks to the support of so many, the Race4Life Trust has been able to appoint a new General Manager to guide the team into 2022 and allow the Trust to continue its work of granting the wishes of New Zealanders in palliative care. However, the Trust still needs help as we navigate our way through the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact the pandemic has had on our ability to raise the funds needed to make the wishes of our patients happen. We would therefore be so grateful if you were able to donate even a small amount to support our work.

If you want to learn more about what we do and how we bring magic into the lives of New Zealanders in palliative care, please look us up on Facebook or head to our website https://race4life.org.nz/
