Rach and Eve’s run for Kerrin.

Having never run a marathon before we would like to get training and give this ago in support of our inspirational colleague and friend Kerrin.

Rach is going to run the Queenstown marathon on the 16th of November 2019, Eve is going to run the Hawkes Bay marathon and Rach will do the half on the 16th of May 2020, to help raise money for Kerrin’s ongoing medical costs.

Kerrin is 44, a registered Nurse, wife to Jason and mum to 4 beautiful children.

Kerrin was first diagnosed with breast cancer 5 years ago. She’s fought with courage and determination, opting for drastic treatment to beat the cancer. Her specialists were positive that she would beat the nasty illness, until 12 months ago she received news which has changed her precious life forever. Kerrin now has terminal Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She has multiple large tumours in her liver, her chest cavity, her bones and small scattered tumours in both lungs. Due to recent progression of the cancer Kerrin has been receiving further specialist treatment, including scans which cost thousands of dollars & radiotherapy in Auckland. The cost of travel and accommodation to Kerrin and her family is significant, and this is only one aspect of her treatment. Many of the drugs she needs to shrink the tumours and prolong her life are not funded in New Zealand and cost thousands of dollars each year.
