Rachel Rescues needs a new ride

A few weeks back I pulled over on the bottom of the Remutaka Hill to check on a minor car accident that I was the only one to witness. - www.facebook.com/groups/Upperhuttcommunitynoticeboard/permalink/2950692908484558

Thankfully the driver, young passenger and car were all okay - just a bit shook up. Upon pulling over to check on them a large freak gust of wind whipped my car door back and caused damage to the side panel and door.

I received the panelbeater repair quote today and it's near the same as what I originally paid for the car nearly 3 years ago. The drivers door does not open fully which will not pass a wof, along with general upkeep of 2 new tyres and the wof expiring soon it looks like I'm better off finding another car. 😩 I currently don't have insurance, however I will definitely be applying for it.

My Blue Toyota Willy (🤣) has done me proud, especially petrol and milage wise, but since running 2 cat rescues both Wairarapa and Wellington wide I've been struggling with severe lack of space and storage as it's a small saloon style car, and there is no air conditioning which greatly hinders transport of any cats during mid Spring to Autumn.

I've never used charity money to fix my car and with barely $1,000 in the bank and 40 hungry mouths to feed I cannot and will not do it. I've only ever reimbursed petrol for travel for Rescues and rescue callouts, and I've come to find I use my own car for personal use less than 5% of the time.

This fundraiser is to cover another second hand car for me to run for both Rachel Rescues and KittyCat Rescue Wairarapa. If I can find cheaper quotes / repairs then the money will go on fixing the current car.

I have a few weeks left until my WOF expires and the Toyota Will is deemed undrivable. I'm becoming extremely anxious that I won't have a car to use which will greatly harm my rescue work from rescuing kitties, to trapping, picking up passed away animals, finding and reuniting pets, vet visits, and more.
