Raise the Roof for our Cambridge Community House

$2,840 of $5,000 goal
Given by 28 generous donors in 8 weeks

Help us raise $5,000 to replace the roof on our community meeting room - home to vital support groups and services in Cambridge.

Cambridge, Waikato

We’re reaching out to our amazing community with an urgent request. During routine maintenance on the roof of our prefab meeting room, we were advised that it needs to be fully replaced. This space, that we call Te Whare Atawhai, is the heart of our community house and we need your help to keep it safe, dry, and welcoming.

Thanks to the generous support of the Waipā Mayor’s Fund and a discounted rate from our contractor, we’ve already secured $7,500 of the $12,500 total cost. That leaves just $5,000 to go, and every contribution, big or small, will help us get there!

This isn’t just about a roof. It’s about protecting a space that brings people together. Our meeting room regularly hosts:

Brain Injury Waikato

The Cancer Society

Aphasia NZ

Alcohol and Other Drug Support Group

Adult Mental Health Wellbeing Skills Group

FoodTogether Co-op

Second-hand School Uniform Sales

These groups rely on a warm, dry, and welcoming space to connect, support, and uplift our community. 💛 Can you help us keep the roof over our heads? Your donation will directly support the wellbeing of hundreds of people who use this space every month.

About us

For 40 years, Cambridge Community House has stood alongside whānau, offering counselling, financial mentoring, and practical help when life becomes overwhelming. Each week, the team welcomes people seeking support, whether they need a listening ear, advocacy through complex systems, or essentials such as food, toiletries, school uniforms, and transport to medical appointments.

The need for support continues to grow, and many in the community face moments that can be hard to manage alone. Some arrive feeling unsure of their next steps, while others are looking for guidance to bring stability back into their lives. Whatever the circumstances, the team offers practical solutions, clear information, and a calm space where people feel respected and heard. Every donation helps keep this support available to anyone in Cambridge who needs it.
