Help Shane get the medical treatment that he needs and deserves.

Bay of Plenty

Shane is a dedicated father, husband and friend to his wife & tamariki. Shane is a mover & a shaker within the Man Up program in Opotiki and a dedicated father when it comes to the education of his own tamariki and others.

Shane was diagnosed with cancer on January 2nd 2019 and then transferred to Tauranga hospital for further assessment. He has a tumour that fills the inside of his stomach which has spread through the lining & scattered throughout his abdomen. He is too weak to do chemo so the only other option is the vitamin C intravenous which he does once a week. It should be twice a week but at $300 a session the whānau can't afford that option.

At this stage they have given him 2-3months, at a stage 4, for life expectancy.

UPDATE: For those of you living locally, Shane is now in hospital. He will appreciate it if you go and visit him. He has made his peace with his Lord & God.

Elsa Kupa's involvement (page creator)

I became involved with Shane and his wife through the Maraenui Kohanga Reo, first as a parent helper and later as an akonga. Shanes focus has and will always be the welfare of children. He is a member of the "Man Up" program in Opotiki and was the bus driver of Te Kura Mana Māori o Maraenui, which he had to give up because of his ill ness. He is an upstanding man with a young family who has been dealt with a raw deal.

Use of funds

The funds will be used to help with any expenses related to his illness
