Raising funds for end of life care and funeral costs

Hi everyone,

We’re reaching out during a difficult and emotionally complicated time for our family.

Our mother is currently in the final stage of her life due to advanced cancer, and she is expected to pass in the coming weeks. While our relationship with her was complicated — and at times strained — my sister and I are handling all of the end-of-life responsibilities and costs ourselves.

We’re trying to give her a respectful cremation and take care of the many logistics that come with this situation. Some of the main costs we’re facing include:

Cremation and basic funeral arrangements

International travel for my sister and her son from Australia

Lost income due to unpaid time off work

Clearing out and packing down her home, including hiring a skip bin and removal supplies

We’re doing what needs to be done — even though it’s not easy emotionally or financially — and we could really use some help to get through it without taking on debt.
