Hi Chloe, I have an AVM although not in my spine however a very close friend of mine in brisbane had one there. She had hers treated with radiation down in Sydney. I’m not sure how melodys has been best decided to be treated however this may be an option if they can do the same operation and nicer being closer to home as we have some great AVM specialists in Australia especially Sydney. Let me know if they’d like some contact details regarding the specialist practice here. Thanks

My name is Efraim, I was diagnosed with a AVM to the brain nearly 2 years ago. Due to its size and location, they've referred me to the United States too.
I can imagine that your friend Melody must be going trough all that fear of the Unknown. I find it hard to research as it is so rear and so different from case to case.

Hi Kerry, thank you for your suggestion. I have looked into the surgeon mentioned on the go fund me page and unfortunately it looks like he is not a vascular neurosurgeon so does not operate on AVMs specifically. Thank you for the information and for visiting my givealittle page!
