Fundraising to complete third and final stage of the Pahiatua Wheel Park
Manawatu / Whanganui
In early 2015 an energetic committee started fundraising to build a Wheel Park in the small rural town of Pahiatua, this was to replace the skate park that had been removed when the Harvard Adventure playground was upgraded.
The Wheel Park is aimed for children of all ages. It is envisaged that parents can bring along young children down to the park to learn how to scooter, bike, skate and enjoy the facilities. The community as a whole will benefit, from toddlers learning new wheel sport skills in a safe environment to teenagers who won’t have to travel out of town to use another facility and will have an area they can make their own.
Stage One and Two of the project has been completed. To complete the third and final stage we need a further $20,000.
I am part of the committee which is a joint project under Bush Multi Sport Trust and Pahiatua On Track
This will see the addition of a concrete track with bumps and jumps around the perimeter of the wheel park and a large concrete pad for a picnic area that will have four picnic seating areas on it.
