Support Glenn, a true Matakana-Mahurangi legend, as he bravely faces his battle against metastatic melanoma. Let’s back our mate!
Warkworth, Auckland
If you’ve lived around the Matakana-Mahurangi area for five minutes, chances are you know Glenn—the generous fulla who’s the first to offer his skills, donate his time, and help his friends. Now, it’s our turn to back the man who has always backed his mates.
After a year fighting metastatic melanoma in his lymph nodes, Glenn recently received tough news: a routine scan revealed two new tumours in his right armpit, marking the return of the cancer. True to form, Glenn has stepped up. He recently started a harsh new immunotherapy treatment. Despite an agonising week requiring hospital care to protect his liver and immune system, his spirit is unbroken. He is currently stabilising his body to prepare for major surgery in six weeks.
To give Glenn the best fighting chance, he is combining immunotherapy with an aggressive, holistic strategy mapped out by an Auckland based specialist. This journey requires unfunded advanced testing sent overseas, critical off-label medications, and targeted drug treatments not covered by regular funding.
The reality is that treatment costs, time unable to work, and family commitments create a substantial financial burden. We want to ensure he can fight this with every tool available without that added stress.
How You Can Help:
• Donate: Any amount goes directly to funding his alternative treatments and supporting his family.
• Share: Please share this link with your friends and the community.
While Glenn does have medical insurance, it doesn't cover everything.
Thank you for your generosity.
Glenn and I are old mates from Mahurangi Collage.
Funds raised will be used to take the financial pressure off Glenn. This journey requires unfunded advanced testing sent overseas, critical off-label medications and supplements, and targeted drug treatments not covered by regular funding, such as vitamin C infusions and hyperbaric chamber treatments.
