Little Vihaana Needs Your Help to Fight for Her Life!

Three-year-old Vihaana, who has been battling severe aplastic anemia, was recently discharged from the hospital but had to be rushed back due to a severe cough, shortness of breath, and dangerously low oxygen levels. She is now in the Pediatric ICU (PICU), undergoing intensive treatment, including antibiotics, platelet transfusions, and a repeat CT scan.

Her parents, Madhvi and Vashneel, have been by her side in India for almost nine months, exhausting their savings while trying to give their little girl a chance at life. Despite their struggles, they remain hopeful for Vihaana’s bright future, but the mounting medical bills and ongoing expenses have left them desperately in need of support.

Your kindness and generosity can ease their financial burden and ensure that Vihaana completes her treatment and returns home to her family in Fiji. Every small contribution counts, whether it's financial assistance or spreading the word.

Let’s come together and give Vihaana the gift of life. Share this message, donate if you can, and be the light in her fight for recovery.

Over a week ago, our brave little Vihaana was hospitalized again due to pneumonia, and the exact cause is still unknown. She had a bronchoscopy two days ago to help pinpoint the cause, but we are still waiting on some of the results.

Vihaana is still on oxygen and is receiving a combination of antibiotics, antivirals, and antifungal medications. So far, she has had one red blood cell transfusion (PRBC) and two platelet transfusions. Sadly, her condition requires continued hospitalization, and her medical bill increases every day as she remains on oxygen, with no expected discharge date yet.

We've attached a copy of her current running bill, and it continues to rise. We would be deeply grateful for any help from Helping Hands to ensure Vihaana can complete her treatment and allow her family to cover the costs of their extended stay in India.

Thank you for your ongoing support, and please keep Vihaana in your thoughts as she continues to fight this battle.

  • Vihaana's battle continues

      13 September 2024

Vihaana underwent her second transplant , but unfortunately, complications prolonged her hospital stay to three months.

Vihaana has just been discharged after this lengthy and difficult hospitalization. Her parents have used all their savings to cover the medical bills and are now struggling to meet the costs of her outpatient care.

Vihaana still requires close monitoring and has been receiving IV injections twice a day for the past week. These treatments are critical to her recovery, but her family is now facing an impossible financial situation. They need approximately $10,000 FJD to cover the cost of completing her treatment. Without this, they fear they may have to return home before her care is finished.

We are reaching out to kind hearts for any support that can help Vihaana complete her treatment and return home healthy. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a world of difference in helping this brave little girl.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
