Last week Dad had his 9th – yes 9th – Avastin treatment. As his oncologist said “remarkable!” That’s not to say the road is easy – there are challenges, plenty of fatigue and some days are tougher than others. But Dad’s feeling pretty well, we’re taking one day at a time, and enjoying plenty of special times with family and friends.

The next few months will see an MRI which will hopefully show Avastin is still making a difference and we can keep going down this track. Please keep all your positive thoughts and prayers coming our way, and thank you again for your love and support – it means so much to our family.

    Much love xxx

This weekend marks Dad’s 70th, followed closely by Christmas – and we have everything to celebrate!

After three Avastin treatments, Dad recently had a MRI and we received the fantastic news that he is responding well. While Avastin isn’t a cure, it works to slow growth, sometimes more successfully than others. We are fortunate that, other than being tired, Dad is feeling pretty well and the Avastin treatment is making a difference.

As well as this medication, the strength getting us through is the incredible love and support from friends and family like you all – so thank you and let’s keep on keeping on!

Please keep all your positive thoughts and well wishes coming, and on behalf of our family we wish you a very Merry Christmas and every happiness in 2016.

As this journey continues, we have so much to be grateful for - firstly, Dad's doing well! After a hiccup a few weeks back, Dad's now lining up to have his 3rd Avastin treatment later this week. Other than feeling tired, he's coping remarkably well, is still telling terrible jokes and enjoying time with family, friends and a new puppy.

We're grateful for the love and support from amazing family and friends all around the world like you! That means so much to us on this roller coaster journey. Whether it's a thoughtful text, watching a football game with Dad, going out for a coffee, sending an email - it all makes a HUGE difference. Thank you xx

And we're grateful for special moments as a family, including Simon completing his first marathon in a fantastic time and giving Dad a Liverpool shirt signed by the team, kindly organised by family friend Val and Aunty Eileen.

So we continue along this road grateful for the love and support of all the special people in lives - thank you xxx

Just one week of fundraising for Dad's treatment and we're overwhelmed by your generosity, support and kind words. With a lump in my throat and tears of hope and gratitude, on behalf of our family - thank you.

At this stage we're waiting for the next MRI and Dad is ready to take on the next steps with strength and determination. We'll certainly keep you updated.

Thank you again for your love and support ~ words don't do it justice. This is one tough journey but without your continued support it would be so much harder.

Check out pics in the gallery section of Dad after his first operation with Sir John Kirwan - just one week after surgery!

    Thank you again xx
