Rebel Youth dance crew have qualified to represent New Zealand at the Hip Hop Unite World Championships in Holland this October.
Auckland
Rebel Youth is a group of 10 dancers aged between 10 and 13 years of age from West Auckland's Dancebeat Academy.
Rebel youth recently won first place in their division at the National Hip Hop Unite Competition in Wellington and have been selected to represent NZ at the Hip Hop Unite World Championships to be held in Holland in October 19th-21st 2017.
The opportunity to dance on a world stage is rare, and the Rebel youth children have worked hard to get this far, we are seeking funding to help them fulfill their dream to dance at the world championship. This experience is developing their confidence, and teaching them about team work, determination and friendship.
Rebel Youth is a relatively new crew, they have developed to a high level of performance in a short time since forming last year, it is exciting to think where the future might lead with this crew and the potential they have. The Rebel Youth dancers are role models among their peers, within the dance community, and in the wider community.
To be able to participate and gain international success would be an awesome achievement for this bunch of kiwi kids!
We are the parents of the Rebel Youth dancers - we work hard to pay for the fees and already do lots of fundraising. However, the cost of the flights to Amsterdam for the crew is more than we can raise in the next couple of months.
Funds raised will be used to pay for flights and accommodation for the team to get them to Amsterdam.
Extension to page 28 September 2017
We are continuing to raise money for the crew to make it to Holland and have extended the page for a few more weeks in the hope of receiving some more support.
